About work
The "hay" was drawn through an intricate play of textures and shapes. The artist utilizes various hatching and cross-hatching techniques to create a sense of depth and volume, giving the sheaf a tactile quality that invites the viewer to touch it, even though the work is two-dimensional. The hatching lines vary in their spacing and direction, producing a gradient of light and shadow across the sheaf's surface.
